A very warm welcome to you!

Enriching Life Through The Arts

The Arts Society Stour Valley was formed by the amalgamation of two existing local societies in 2022.  We are a group of people who are interested in and enjoy the arts in general. Through illustrated talks we aim to broaden and enhance our knowledge of the wide spectrum of design, decorative and visual arts in all their variety, from antiquity to the present day. Our speakers are selected for their knowledge, presentational skills and ability to entertain. Our talks are held in Long Melford Village Hall, starting at 11:00 on the third Wednesday of each month except in July and August, when there are no lectures.

We run visits to country houses, exhibitions, museums, gardens and other places of interest and, for those who wish to hear about a subject in greater depth, we have Special Interest Events that allow the speaker more time on their subject.

Our membership fee entitles you to free attendance at the monthly lectures and allows you to sign up for visits and special interest events, for which additional charges are payable.

This website shows the full extent of our activities, so please explore it by clicking on the links at the top of the page.

We are grateful for the support of Nethergate Brewery and Distillery, whose sponsorship helps to support our Society.

Our society is run entirely by a committee of volunteers.  We encourage members' offers of help with events or for committee rôles. If you feel able to offer your services in any way, please contact us.
